Painting and Decorating

Thorough preparation ensures the painting process can be smoothly executed. After protecting floors, furnishings and fittings the cleaning, filling and sanding can be done.

Synthetic bristle brushes are best for water based paint and natural for oil based. The appropriate primers need to be used depending on the surface before the first coat of paint can be applied.

I take great pride in my work and know from experience that being clean, tidy and organised makes the painting process easier and quicker. Most important is the finish. A great finish is achieved through meticulous preparation of the surfaces, sanding and nib removal between coats and skilled application of the chosen product. With a thorough inspection and final once over at the end.

If my clients have a tight deadline I’m willing to work evenings and weekends to meet their needs, a clients satisfaction is my priority.

Carpentry

Skilled in carpentry I’m able to take care of any tasks that arise in relation to skirting, trim, doors, cupboards or any other woodwork that needs replaced, fixed or fitted.

I also make bespoke shelving and cupboard units to fit alcoves and storage spaces using your choice of sheet material and fixtures and fittings.

My clients have been more than pleased that I’m able to be a one stop shop for all their needs during a redecorating project saving them the hassle of hiring a multitude of tradespeople.

Flooring

Installing wood flooring to high quality standard is a skill that requires experience and an eye for detail. Allowances must be made for expansion and the flooring should be allowed to sit in a room for a week before installation to enable it to acclimatise to the moisture conditions of the room.

Skirting boards should be removed and the flooring laid with a suitable expansion gap. After the subfloor is laid and levelled the room is ready to be floored.

I recommend choosing and ordering all accessories required at the beginning of the project when ordering the flooring, such as beading, door transitions and stair nosing. The company that supplies the flooring will likely have the most suitable products to match your floor.

Every room has its own unique angles and obstructions which require skill and experience to produce a flawless finish.

Laying carpet requires meticulous preparation of the subfloor to ensure its ready to receive and hold the carpet firmly in place. The carpet needs to be cut precisely and stretched during the laying process to produce a pristine finish.
